[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this as a Christmas gift and wanted to put it through the motions before I reviewed. Now every grinder I have ever used including standalone stainless steel grinders have a problem processing large chunks of fat that reach room temperature, this mixer kept pushing through as long as I added a larger strips of meat (muscle)... Now I put it through the paces and ground 15 lbs of trimmed brisket (tough and sinewy) and this grinder chewed it up and spit it out LOL!
I bought the food grinder about a year ago along with other kitchen aid products. I have used the grinder 2 times before today when the tip of the pin broke off and is now useless.I was grinding small pieces of brisket to make brisket burgers and about 5 seconds later into the process it just stop grinding.

So I've had this attachment for a while, and it's time for a review. So let's say either the blades aren't sharp enough or the mixer is not powerful enough; either way, this grinder needs to be used for soft meats and a few veggies. But tougher cuts of meat will not push through this attachment. Also, what's with the discoloring? Disgusting, to say the least. I will update you with pictures next time.

This was the original grinder I bought, the plastic broke. I was afraid of not being able to clean it properly si I threw it away and bought the metal one. Now I am wondering if the metal one contains lead?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Loved the one that I had but do to a house fire all plastic items had to be thrown out. Received my new grinder and was able to grind the remaining turkey up and make a turkey sandwich spread with sweet pickles, onions, mayonnaise, favorite spices. Delicious.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was able to grind up fresh beef and pork to make my favorite cocktail meatballs! It was super fast and easy with my KitchenAid mixer. You just untwist the front, attach it, and go! I feel like a professional butcher now, haha! My family was so impressed and it was nice knowing EXACTLY was was going into my ground meat. So fresh and perfect!
