I asked - they answered!!!! TravlinGirl3 ·

Two years ago, I needed a new mixer. Since KitchenAid has such a good reputation, I knew that this would be my last mixer. I ordered an Artisan but found it to be way too heavy. I was 66 at the time and figured I wouldn't be able to lift it as I got into my 70's and, hopefully, 80's. I don't use a mixer often enough to give it permanent counter space. I called KitchenAid and asked about a lighter model, but they had none other than a hand mixer which I bought. I suggested that they make a lighter model since we baby boomers were getting to an age where weight would be a problem. Imagine my delight when I got an email 6 weeks ago that the Mini was available!! I am taking full credit for this new model!! ;) The Mini is WONDERFUL!! I was afraid that I might have to cut my cookie recipes in half, but I can mix a full batch of chocolate chip cookies in it. The slowest speed is just like stirring by hand so brownies mix up evenly with fewer strokes. Currently, there is not a fitted cover for it, but KitchenAid assures me that one will be available soon.

I like the product and enjoy using it. I am looking forward to purchasing more attachments. However I was very disappointed in the condition of the mixer when it arrived . Frankly I believe that t was previously returned and had been used. It was scratched and marred. I went to my local store to see if they would have a replacement, but they did not have the color I wanted. I made the decision that I did not want to go through the hassle of returning the product because the flaws did not affect the function of the product. But adding this to a previous experience of ordering a La Cross indoor/outdoor thermometer clock from you and having it delivered missing the outdoor sensor and having to return and reorder that, I will never use your online service again. I believe you ship out returned/used merchandise as new. So when I look for more attachments for my mixer I will search out another source.

I love the size of the mixer, the design, and the colors offered. However, when the mixer arrived, it did not work very well. The flex edge beater was not touching the wall of the bowl at the bottom, and it touched the wall of the bowl at the top too much. In my mind, it needed realignment. However, the manual did not tell me how to do that. The KA website also has instructions on how to align a flat better but sadly, not a flex edge one. Accordingly, I had to return the mixer.

Shredded Zucchini great Kimmer01 ·

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Shredded zucchini for bread. Did great. Comes with larger or small shredder. Could use medium shredder. Also replace plastic with metal for durability.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I bought this size I needed to downsize from the 6qt stand mixer for catering. Love how it fits right in my new kitchen. Size of bowl is great for fixing suppers and going to try making bread now!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this because it is much lighter than my previous one and it fits under cabinet even when head tilted back.

Smaller than my Pro600 AND just as good aMACer2 ·

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have the KitchenAid Professional 600 but no longer have the multitude of people to cook for so the KitchenAid Artisan Mini 3.5 is perfect for pared down versions of many recipes...and I can use all my attachments on it too!

Kitchenaid Quality Lola#1 ·

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love the quality of my Artisan mini stand mixer. It will take time for me to adjust to the smaller size—I previously had a 5.5 qt model. I’m now retired and have downsized so I have limited countertop space. I had to sacrifice larger mixer but I’m very happy I stayed with Kitchenaid. I wish could order a pouring shield to fit but it’s a small price to pay to stay with you.

Way too crowded Rtminfla ·

I have always wanted a kitchen aid mixer but my kitchen is really small. When i saw they made a smaller version, i jumped at it. All the attachments you can use, and a couple I purchased was exciting to me. I got the juicer attachment and the meat grinder attachment. Well the 3.5 qt still too big to put out on my counter but i have a nice cupboard to put it in so it’s pretty handy. The most use I’ve gotten out of is the meat grinder. As for making anything like muffins or a cake, the unit is very uncomfortable. The beaters for this mixer are how big they need to be but if you have to add an ingredient, (like alternately adding flour and liquid), you have to stop the mixer and lift up the head. There is so little space be tween the head and the edge of the bowl. As a matter of fact, just today i was making muffins and when i tried to crack an egg in the creamed butter and sugar, i accidentally dropped part of the shell into my dough. Also, you can’t scrape the sides of the bowl while the unit is running. It’s more of a pain than a convenience. While I’ve not done it, the power doesn’t seem strong enough to whip cream. And the beater you’d do it with is really hard to clean without using your fingers. The meat grinder is great, although it seems a shame I have this appliance that can conveniently only that. I had such high hopes. I wouldn’t recommend this for someone who likes a mixer to make cakes and muffins.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve had the big lift-bowl version for years but this is so much easier to move from under the counter to the counter as I age. Makes regular recipe sizes too. No regrets.
