Hair color can cause an allergic reaction. Usage Advisory - Safety: Important: Haircolor can cause an allergic reaction which, in certain rare cases, can be severe. Therefore, you must follow these precautions: Do not use if: you have already had a reaction to a haircolor product; you have a sensitive, itchy or damaged scalp. If you have a tattoo, the risks of allergic reaction may be increased. Perform a skin allergy test 48 hours before each use of this product (see insert). Remember to buy your product 2 days ahead of time. Avoid contact of this product with eyes and skin. If product gets into eyes, rinse immediately. Wear gloves provided in kit. Thoroughly rinse hair after application. Do not use over compound henna or progressive color. Wait at least 14 days after bleaching, relaxing or perming before coloring. Keep product out of the reach of children. Do not apply on children. This product contains ingredients which may cause skin irritation on certain individuals and a preliminary test according to accompanying directions should first be made. This product must not be used for dyeing the eyelashes or eyebrows; to do so may cause blindness.

I loved my natural hair color and never wanted to color it, but with age comes gray hair... No one knew I was getting grays, but I could spot every single one and they bugged me so much. Every time I'd part my hair differently, one would pop up and I would have to pull it out. That went on for years and I kept getting more. At a glance, it still looked like I had none, but pulling them out wasn't working for me anymore. I couldn't get them all! Then, I finally made the decision to color my hair :( I did a lot of research to find the best product that I could use at home and found this. I am so happy with the results! I searched for all my grays when I was finished and couldn't find a single one! The color is just like my natural color and my hair is so soft. I really should have used this sooner! But you have to read the instructions carefully! The tubes are numbered, but they don't match the order on the instructions. I'm glad I took the time to read everything. If L'oreal could change that, it would be perfect!
I was very disappointed in this product. My hair turned out much darker than box. I did not hate it. However, after the first time I washed it-the color faded a lot. It continued to fade each time I shampooed. I do not over wash my hair and I use color safe shampoo. I will not use again.

I’ve used this product for more than 10 years. I enjoy the results and ease of use. I’ve gotten compliments on my color many times. However, I am disappointed with the new packaging for the. Conditioner. Almost every tube splits open at the seam.

I agree the new formula does not cover greys as well and fades very quickly. I suddenly needed to color every 3 weeks! It also doesn't look anywhere near as natural. I've also been using this product for at least 2 decades and got compliments on my hair all the time. Not anymore. Time to switch!

Have been using L'oreal Excellence Creme haircolor for three years now and have been happy with the results. However, this new "improved" formula is inacceptable. It is not as thick and creamy upon application, it did NOT cover all my gray and my usual color (Medium Chestnut Brown - 5CB) faded dramatically within the first week and now is embarrassingly brassy red.

I didnt used to like dying my hair at home, and boxed dye has always gets a bad rep. this dye was easy to mix, easy to apply, washed out and left beautiful rich color. will buy aabsin.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The L'Oreal Paris Excellence Crème Hair Color in dark brown was easy to use, it covered all of my grey hairs and my roots that had grown out (and it was a lot). It did turnout a little darker than I expected, my hair is already dark brown, but this turned out almost black. After 2 washes it has lightened up a little. Just be careful with this color if you don't want almost black hair. Otherwise I would recommend this brand.
