I ordered a 4.5qt to replace a 4.5qt no name brand that I own. the Le Creuset holds exactly 4 quarts up to the rim. When I called the manufacturer they insured me that all the capacities listed for their pots were accurate. ABSOLUTELY not true. So I returned it and ordered a 5.5qt and it measures exactly 5qts to the rim. So, when shopping for these Dutch ovens keep in mind that the pot will be one half quart less than advertised. But still a great product.
I am so disgusted. There are scratches on the bottom (toolmarks) and some cooked on substance that was presumably someone else's dinner. There's a pandemic and you send me a used pot?

Excellent for slow cooking & roasting. First Le Creuset I have used & would consider other sized products as well
I have waited a long time to start my own Le Creuset collection. I love to cook, and I've always heard such great things about the Le Creuset brand. However, they are quite pricey! I finally decided to splurge on the 5.5 Round Dutch Oven - and I am so glad I did! I've made stuffed peppers, marinara sauce and a pot of soup so far. It warms up quickly and cooks so evenly - its amazing. On top of everything, clean-up is a joy. It just wipes clean. I purchased the Meringue color and it is gorgeous! My biggest decision now is whether to collect all the same color - or mix them up! Either way, my collection will definitely be growing.
This is a work horse, can do so many things with it. Very versatile. Easy to clean. Buy bigger. You can always cook less in a large Dutch oven. But never more in a smaller Dutch oven.
I loved my Le Crueset and took great care of it. I noticed it had a small chip on the rim. It has a lifetime warranty and let's face cost a bundle. I contacted them and they said basically, based on pictures that showed no wear but the chip, "It's your fault" deal with it. Just know that if you actually use the pot the warranty is worthless.
So far, this oven works beautifully. I seared meat in it, browned the peppers and onions and then braised the meat for 4 hours. Turned out incredible. Very attractive finish.
I purchased this for a wedding registry. It is beautiful wheat ivory color. Very large can do any job! The bride and groom were thrilled. Wonderful price. Workhorse for any kitchen.
Have wanted this Dutch Oven for 6 years. Finally got one and love it. Don't wait, get one now!
Even though I read all of the measurements, this pot was still smaller than I expected and really is sized for liters. It does not hold a full one quart. Nevertheless, I am very happy with it! It's perfect for one-pot dishes for one, goes well from stovetop to oven to table, and is also very useful for smaller hot side dishes for 3-4 people. It takes up almost no room on the table. I thought the price was a little bit high for the size, but that's ok, given that it has a nice fitting cover and is very versatile, with the usual high quality Made in France Le Creuset crafting.
