Mason Cash® Cane 4.25-Quart Mixing Bowl

I bought this Mason and Cash Co bowl to replace one that I chipped. My first set of 3 bowls was purchased in the 1990's and was of high quality. I replaced the middle size a few years back and found it was thinner than the originals, but still matching the "Cane" set. This one does not have the same colour and definition as the others. It also has a label stuck on the bottom that seems to indicate the Original Mason and Cash Co has been bought out and is under new ownership. That might explain the decline.

Don’t waste your money on these cheap quality bowls! I had always coveted the Mason Cash bowls since growing up watching my grandma and mom use these bowls. I received the larger and medium sized bowls for Christmas and was excited, I treat these bowls like gold. Washed them as soon as I was done using them, not stacking other bowls inside, I babied these bowls. Within a couple of months, both bowls had chips around the rims. I was excepting something of quality like my pottery Denby plates/ bowls which have held up beautifully over the years. Needless to say the medium sized bowl cracked down the middle and broke within the first year from being ‘dinged’ In sink. My larger bowl is now cracked down the side and I’m just trying to make it work, since I’m so sad it’s basically garbage now. Waste of Money!

They really are as beautiful as they are functional.

Bought two Mason Cash mixing bowls for my daughter. She’d wanted them for a long time. Both of us love to use them in the kitchen. They are very versatile.

My wife has had two sizes of Mason Cash bowls originally made in England for 40+ years. Just recently she accidentally dropped the smaller bowl and it shattered into many pieces. She was devastated! So I immediately googled Mason Cash and lo and behold they are still made in Portugal, are of similar quality and are sold by Bed Bath and Beyond! So we ordered two sizes to complete the set of 3. She has since used the new bowls and states they feel the same and are essentially the same in mixing, microwaving and most importantly of all in making chocolate chip cookies. We are very pleased with them.

I bought this bowl to replace one I was given years ago by mother-in-law that I dropped and broke. The quality is just not the same. The new is much lighter in weight, seems to have thinner sides and base, the color is not the same (it doesn’t match the other smaller bowls from the original set). This may be because the bowls are no longer made in England so the process is mostly likely different. I think they are made in Portugal. As far as mixing bowls go, it is good but just not as good of quality as the original.

Bowl is just as expected. Would buy again
