I had one of these 30 years ago, and when part of it broke, went with a standard electric model. But lately have needed a bit less coffee and saw the top part of this unit at an edgy, young "pourover" coffee house in town. Overwhelmed with nostalgia and seriously amused by the edgy young barrista's comment that I was "cutting edge" WAY back then, I decided to order this pot. SO very glad I did. Melitta has made some great improvements since my first version, with a wider handle and deep grooves inside the top part (which keep the coffee flowing nicely while brewing). Some of the best coffee I've made in years. This pot is so simple and elegant looking (shall I say timeless?), and easy to clean. And you really can't beat the price.
Bottom inside lip of cone was missing glaze and thus was stained by coffee. This meant that the area was porous and thus is susceptible to bacterial accumulation, making it unsanitary. Purchased one from Amazon Direct, one from Walmart. Same story. The use of the cone was fine, but this is a poorly made product.

The cone of this coffee maker is heavier than the pot. I wish the pot was a little heavier to keep the coffee warmer for a little longer and make the unit a little more stable when the cone plus on top of the pot. I also find the cone volume to be a little smaller than the plastic Melitta cone that I have, so I need to pour water in smaller batches. Good for coffee amount for 1-2 people
Because I broke my Coffee Pot, I was happy to find it at BBB because the replacement was available immediately.
I have had melita products in the past, great products. If we lose power I still have a great cup of coffee. I like the look of this on my table. Love it.

I like the fact it is not made of plastic, the coffee stays hot longer. It is pretty easy to use
