After purchasing and being frustrated with three different types of mandolins in an attempt to shred cheddar and co-Jack cheeses, I discovered this handy tool. It made the chore and clean up so much easier! I would strongly suggest the use of shredding gloves, which I have now ordered, to protect fingers and hands as you shred the final bits of cheese or whatever product you're using. Clean-up under the faucet sprayer works very well to dislodge pieces of cheese. The storing guard is a great addition. (Hint from the relatively inexperienced: have your cheese very cold when shredding as well as when you're sprinkling it on casseroles/dishes. The longer it sits out the more difficult it is to work with.)
I got this in baby blue. Definitely a mistake because after washing in the dishwasher with some other things that had a little tomato sauce on them the microplane handle became discolored. I think it may have also faded in color a bit. Otherwise this is a great tool and the cover is a nice extra.

I love this zester. So easy to use and I can use it for more then zesting citrus.
I bought it for my “very particular” wife and she absolutely loves it for grating parmesan cheese.

Great product, easy to use and clean.
This was a good addition to my Microplane collection. I like when inverted, it catches the zest in the channel and with a quick slap on the cutting board, the zest is released.
Christmas gift for Hello Fresh users - they zest a lot, & their cheese grater was too big. BB&B did a stellar job of including my gift message, putting it in the gift bag that I ordered, & shipping it out in a day. I own a Microplane zester & love it - I think they will too!
Easy to hold. Easy to use!
This is a little work horse in the kitchen. I use it to zest, grate garlic or ginger into a recipe or cheese over a plated dish. Stays sharp and easy to clean
Excellent quality, easy to clean, can be used for many things.
