To start the only reason I gave this 4 stars is because when it arrived the box was damaged and the neck of the power head was hanging out but because this is so durable nothing is damaged!!! Buy it here at bbb online and use the 20% coupon sometimes you cannot use that coupon for Miele in store. I love vacuuming and I like canisters but most made it impossible to do my house. This c1 is not my first Miele last year I bought the Miele upright and it is very good but too bulky and heavy. I have owned several canisters including Dyson, Kenmore, FilterQueen, and a fake Chinese Electrolux but this is the one canister I’ve been impressed with. It cleans better than any canister I’ve had and uprights though I do have 2 Kirbys. This canister has so much suction. The power head works really well on my mostly wall to wall carpets which are 18 years old. For the little bare floors I do have it worked good but if you have a lot of floors buy the parquet twister brush. This Miele works as well as their really expensive ones save the money get this Miele. Also the charcoal filter that comes with this works no more dog smell.
I was excited about this vacuum, but I found it extremely difficult to maneuver, especially with the Electro Brush attachment (the other vacuum head did nothing on hardwood floors, so I'd need to use the brush attachment exclusively). My wrists hurt after 20 minutes of using this, and I'm an active, limber person. My wife also found it too heavy to maneuver, Very sorry to have returned this, but now we're back to the hunt for a replacement for our 10-year-old Hoover. The canister also often flipped over as we moved around, and the cord is too short for something of this price.

I have wanted a Miele for a long time and finally took the leap with buying an expensive vacuum. Maybe some models are better than others, but after using this for several months I can definitely say I regret the purchase. It is difficult to maneuver and the roller brush works intermittently. I will probably have to put in a warranty claim for that. I am just overall disappointed, not worth the price unfortunately.
I had been using a Dyson and it started to fail and was looking into new vacuums. The Meile C1 is expensive, but not much more than a Dyson, It also has a 5 year warranty, and even better than that, it's designed and built to be repaired if something breaks. Most items today are designed and built to be throw away when it fails, but with proper caee and maintenance, this vacuum can last 10+ years. I highly recommend this vacuum.
After only three months of use, the power went out. Taking it to see if it is covered by warranty but that is crazy after three months that it breaks.
This vacuum was a huge disappointment. It was not at all powerful and broke wiithin a few months.
Bought the C1 Cat and Dog and it does pick up well but the wand is poorly made. It slides down while you are sweeping. We replaced the button and that did not fix the problem. To purchase a new electric wand is 250 and given it is less than 2 years old I cannot justify the cost. And customer service is foreign associates that are very difficult to understand! Very disappointed in our purchase!

I live a cat and a dog in a home with carpet and vinyl flooring. This vacuum is versatile and great.
I really did like my Shark Vaccum but they can't be repaired and last about 4 yrs. Some people complain about the cost of vacuum bags but use the 20% off code when you need them. Included an electric vacuum head and bare floor attachment. No need to think about this purchase you won't be disappointed. If you really need a longer cord consider the Miele C3 (not sold here)
