When I was registering for my wedding, I almost didn't register for the Mikasa Cheers glasses because there were reviews stating that they broke easily. In the end, however, I loved them so much that I decided to take the risk. The china I received was not dishwasher safe, so we made the decision to treat our bar ware with the same precaution. It has been a year. We drink fairly often and entertain a lot, and I'm happy to report that the only broken glass we've had is one that took a serious nosedive into tile. I would highly recommend the entire Mikasa Cheers collection. It's stunning, and with a little bit of caution, we have zero complaints.
I registered for these glasses because they were unique and added character to your standard glass set. I received the entire set in the 12 and 19 ounce highball and the wine glasses. Upon opening the boxes I noticed that not only were some of the boxes different, but so were the glasses. The nicer, heavier glasses had the designs engraved into the glass; whereas the design on the inferior glasses was etched on top of the glass and could practically be wiped away. The variation in the size and weight of the boxes was what initially caught my eye, and after I looked I also realized that the company information on the boxes was different (some say Mikasa and some say Lifetime Brands - Mikasa). Long story short, the nicer, heavier glasses with the engraved design were made by Mikasa BEFORE they were acquired by Lifetime Brands a few years ago. Once Lifetime Brands acquired Mikasa they began producing inferior products. The glass is visibly thinner, more light weight, and yes they do chip and break easier (two of the lifetime brands glasses were already chipped in the box). I will be returning the entire set. I think this explains the variation in the reviews and everyone's experiences with these glasses. If you can find some that are made by Mikasa (not lifetime brands - it will say it on the side of the box) then get them. If not, then pass and get something of a higher quality.

One glass came broken and after sending a picture of the broken glass, it is being replaced. I have used these glasses for many years and love them!

This is the second time I’ve ordered these glasses. I love their size. They are easy to store being tall and thin. I also have the lowball version of these.

I was so delighted to host the New Year party using the cheers flutes set, which was my first time using this set for this very special festive season. As this was the first time using, I washed the flutes with sponge (soft sponge, not the green part), but the pattern came off..... and even my guests noticed it. I am not sure if this is just me or if anyone has the same problem. Can anyone please share if you have the same issue? Thank you.

Appear to be quality glasses. The only negative is the packaging. I was expecting the glasses to be seated in a keepsake box made specifically for these glasses not generic brown cardboard.
