Mikasa® Swirl 4-Piece Place Setting in Ombre

I received twelve of the Mikasa Swirl White dinnerware sets, as well as many of the accent pieces, as a result of my wedding registry four years ago. Over those four years I have continued to be pleased with this line of dinnerware for many reasons. Among the reasons that I love my dishes are (1) they are timeless in both color and design, (2) they can be used as either formal or casual dinnerware, (3) their design is durable and well planned, and (4) there are a variety of accent pieces available to complete the set for anyone’s individual needs. Please read on to find more information if you are considering making an investment in this beautiful line of stoneware for yourself or for a loved one. I have often fallen victim to fleeting trends in both clothing and home décor, and as a result I am more cautious now when purchasing items that I will keep for a long time. It follows, then, that when choosing the dinnerware with which I would entertain friends, family, and colleagues - I wanted something timeless. The subtly off-white color of these dishes will never be dated. Additionally, these white dishes can be paired with any color of linens or accent plates to create just the look you desire for your event. This last point is so true, in fact, that my husband has put a limit on the number of styles of accent plates and table runners I can have in the basement. I know many households have similar policies on shoe buying, although I have never been afflicted with the desire to buy the number of shoes that would warrant such a policy. A more practical benefit to the Mikasa Swirl White dinnerware is that it can be used as both a casual and a formal dinnerware set. I was never interested in having separate dishes for formal dinners and for everyday use; these dishes were the perfect compromise. I have even used them on our deck for more formal outdoor dinners. The third point I would like to illustrate is the well thought out design of this particular dinnerware set. It is both dishwasher and microwave safe, the design is ergonomically pleasing, and it is heavy enough to be sturdy; yet light enough to be delicate like china. The dishes all have a matte outer edge and a glossy food surface which is perfect for avoiding any long-lasting stains. The matte look is stylish, but it is more susceptible to staining than the glossy finish. The last point is about the availability of many styles and sizes of accent pieces. There are square-edged plates and bowls, oval platters, fruit bowls, and appetizer plates- to name a few. This makes it easy for the consumer to customize their set to their own preferences. I personally own a set of fruit bowls and all of the platters and vegetable bowls which have been used regularly and are still as beautiful as the day I bought them.
