I had a ceramic Compost bin that I broke the lid for. I'm glad that happened as this new stainless steel one is easy to clean, lightweight, and has no rim that hinders removal of the compostable liner bag. Makes it easy to ensure that our food waste gets composted by our trash company. They have that service - great!! It comes with where to buy the bags and extra filters. Very reasonable - I actually wash them so they last longer than the 6 months. That's a long time to wait if you get food on the filter and it get dirty. They air dry beautifully.
Bought this 4 years ago, was very pleased with it until the 'stainless steel' corroded and it sprung several leaks at the base, spilling compost moisture all over our countertop. Cleaned up odor with baking soda, but the stainless product we bought to be a 'forever' compost container is now unusable.

We purchased this container about 4 months ago and we are very pleased. It is sturdy because it is metal. We like having the filter. No odors escape from this container. When full, my husband empties the contents into our large outdoor composter. It is an appropriate size for our kitchen. We are ordering another one to use in the bathroom for wipes.
I can always count on good quality from Bed Bath and Beyond and I love the coupons !!! We are just starting composting here so I needed to get the bin; filters and bags .. one stop shopping online !!!
So far so good. This pail does the job for what our needs are and fits nicely under our sink. I put 2 paper towel strips at the bottom of the pail which helps to prevent sticking inside. It's lightweight and is easy to clean. I would recommend this product.
There is a lip pressed into the bottom of the container, but it's very shallow so with any amount of material in it, the inner part bows out, making the container wobble. Ridiculous.
I was surprised by how big this bucket is. I must be used to one gallon buckets. Heavy duty. It closes tight enough to keep flies in check but loose enough so I don’t have to muscle it open for use.
