I have 8 place settings and received them in 2013 when I got married. We’ve used them every day and have moved twice. No breaks, no chips, no scratches on the plates. HIGHLY recommend.
I have already written a review on this china, and in my previous review I gave it 4 out of 5 stars because the finish was showing some deterioration from everyday use. At this point, after just a few years of daily service not only does the white portion look worn, the black portion of the plates has become streaked and faded from being placed in the dishwasher on a regular basis. Oddly, none of the bowls, accent plates, and cups show this sort of deterioration, so I'm at a loss to explain why things are so different with the plates. The bowls are in use almost as much as the plates, so that doesn't provide an answer as to why. I am so disappointed with this pattern that I am seriously in search of replacement china for everyday use. And believe you me, I will not again be buying from Noritake. If you're looking for everyday china, this pattern is not a good value. I am withdrawing my previous recommendation.

I have several Noritake plates, bowls, coffee cups, etc. I have never had a problem with scratches. They are top quality items.

While I love my cool wave graphite dinnerware, I ended up returning these flower lunch plates. The gray background color is too dark and unpleasant. I wish they were the cream background instead, like the appetizer plates.

I love the look of these dishes but the graphite color fades and the dishes chip when put in the dishwasher.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It all started (innocently) with the purchase of our Colorwave Graphite Coupe set nearly ten years ago. Soon we added Graphite Rim and Square pieces for variety. Then interesting accent and serving pieces . So many choices! Next, we thought 'just a few' pops of color might be good. Fast forward to present... we now have a cupboard that looks like a rainbow! It's fun creating color combinations for changing seasons and holidays. Or our mood of the day. Coordinating Colorwave glassware has been a nice addition too. And we keep adding pieces! (Turquoise is my latest favorite.) With daily use, our pieces have held up remarkably well over time. When we've occasionally broken something, Noritake's replacement program has been terrific. Couldn't be happier. Colorwave is a wonderful collection to build upon as you go!
