OXO Good Grips® Microfiber Extendable Duster

This would be an excellent product if the designer hadn’t fallen asleep. The duster head can be moved to a horizontal position using a mechanism that locks it into place using a press button. The extendable two piece pole on the other hand is useless. The two parts are supposed to be twisted “20-30 times” in opposing directions to lock it into an extended position. I twisted them about 50-60 times, as did my husband-still loose and actually dangerous if the user attempts to dust something overhead. I am very disappointed. Oxo makes very good reasonably priced kitchen tools and gadgets, but this duster is a piece of garbage.

So far I like this duster. It makes reaching my ceiling fan and ceiling corners a breeze. My only complaint is that there are no directions and the sticker that’s on the pole to indicate how to lock the duster into the extended position is wrong. It merely says “twist to extend.” It should say, “Extend. Twist extended portion counter clockwise to lock into place.” (I almost returned mine because I thought it was defective.). So, great duster! Not great directions. I liked mine enough to buy a replacement head so I can switch them out between cleanings. That part is super easy and works well.

I'm only 5' 2" and can not reach the ceiling fan of other high places . This product works great for those hard to reach areas and cleans well the dust and doesn't go flying all over.

So far, I like this extendable duster. It took me a minute to figure out how to lock the duster into its extended position. You must extend and then twist the top section counterclockwise while twisting the bottom section in the opposite direction. Do the reverse to loosen. I was able to easily snap off microfiber head to wash in washing machine on cold and I let the head air dry. It fit back on the pole and worked well after being laundered. What I really like about this is that it reached my ceiling fan, crown molding, and “cobweb” corners easily.

I needed something lighter and better for cleaning fan blades and hard to reach baseboards for dusting. I have just started using it and so far, I am very happy.
