I have had several different electric shavers of the years, including a few from Philips, and this one is as expected. I have never had any issues with my other Philips but this one was far better. I think the battery life was much better than I expected and had very little to none hairs pulls when using it. The easy fit in my hand, the lightweight of the shaver allowed for easy and quick shaves. I think the cost is at par as compared to others I have owned in the past as well as what is out there I the market today. This shaver is going to be a keeper and cant wait to see how it performs over the long haul.
The Philips Shaver Series 2300 is very light weight and does not have a real sense in your hand. It feels inferior to other products which has some weight and presence. The shaver provided a mediocre shave, I had to go over multiple times to get all the facial hair. Even after multiple passes it still left a tiny stubble. The head of the shaver did not pivot which would have been more comfortable to use. The trimmer on back was very difficult to open to use. The trimmer shaved a clean line on my sideburns. The battery life was still good after 3 weeks of daily use. It is a basic electric shaver with no luxury feel. This would probably be a good starter electric shaver and is probably the lower end of shavers.

For the best result when using your Philips Shaver with a foam or shaving gel, we'd recommend you to take care of the following: Always wash your face with water and soap before you start your shaving routine, after which you can apply your shaving gel or foam. Now you should start shaving by moving your shaver in circular movements over your skin. Doing this ensures that all hair growing in different directions are removed. If you're shaving dry, then we'd recommend you to allow at least 15 minutes for your skin to dry completely before you start shaving after washing it with soap and water. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I gave this product for stars because it is a good product. It does work it does not cut all the hairs like the old one used to, but it does work. The only thing I don’t like about it is when it’s fully charged it sounds like it’s low like it’s struggling to run and it cuts week. I think it affects the the performance of the unit as well because the blades aren’t spinning fast enough to cut the hairs properly, so I don’t know if I have a defective unit or if that’s just the way they are because I had an older one that works great and this newer one doesn’t work so Great .

After less than one week of use, one of the shaver heads seized up. I checked the warranty....the replaceable heads are not covered by warranty. The cost of a new set of shaver heads was almost as much as the price I paid for the shaver. The replacement heads seem to be of much better quality, than the originals.

The razor was used 5 or 6 times over the last year or so. I tired it yesterday and it needed recharging which I did, The haver started up as usual, then stopped after 2 or 3 seconds, then restarted very nosily and won't run for more than 2 or three seconds while shaving.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Previous razor was a Norelco 2100. The motor ran like it was in a bind. Later the case popped open I finally got it closed back and it ran a little smoother and easier but I think it had been damaged because it was not completely assembled properly in the first place. Even running slower more sporadically is still cut closer than this 2300.

I purchased this trying to move away from the disposable razor and quickly moved right back. The power is terrible, I’ve charged it overnight, used it while plugged in and nothing helps. It almost feels like it pulling the hairs out one by one. Unfortunate, but on a positive not I guess I don’t have to worry about buying those replacement heads
