I would like to respond to a couple of the other reviews. First...to the one who said it falls apart. Ridiculous!! It is operator error. The three latches snap very tightly onto the bottom layer. They are so tight that it takes some muscle to get them opened...a great safety feature. If they are properly snapped they absolutely won't open until you're ready. Next...to the one who said it is cheaply made. The outside layers are very sturdy and well made. The cupcake holders inside are made of a light weight material. That doesn't necessarily translate to cheap. If all of the layers were as heavy as the outside it would make it very heavy when it is filled with a cake or cupcakes. Last...to the person who said some of the cupcakes slid because she had it angled on the seat of the car. LOL...I admire the fact that you admitted it was your fault. Good adivice though...it really needs to be transported flat. This is a great product and is perfect for transporting cupcakes or cakes safely. And...the bonus is that things can be made a couple of days in advance and they stay fresh in the tightly sealed container.
I noticed for every one-star review on this product, there are several gushing five-star reviews following (which, aside from there obvious infomercial-style titles, and even one pitching another product, I doubt is a coincidence). First off, it's just a poorly made product, and has a real "dollar-store" feel to it. Secondly, the design flaws mentioned in this and the other one-star ratings, quite frankly, defeat the whole purpose of owing this product. My wife and I have used it twice now in one and a half years. The first time we used it, I carried it by the bottom becuase it had individual pies in the carrier, and I had to keep is stable. The second time (today- 3/3/12), we had arranged cupcakes on both tiers of the cupcake organizer that came with our carrier. As I was carrying the carrier out to the car, the bottom literaly popped off; it wasn't bumped, it was carried very gently (it was full of cupcakes, doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out "Hold Upright, Walk Soft and Slow"). I had checked the latches prior to lifting the carrier (I wanted to make sure they were secure, because it seemed so cheaply made, I questioned the integrity of the latches). I held the carrier by the handle on top (the only handle), proceeded to the car, and about 10 steps in to my walk, POP!!! About 13 hours of mixing, baking, decorating and arranging were lost- Just. Like. That. The point to all these cupcakes, to begin with, was for my wifes best friends baby shower, whom both her and her husband lost their jobs within the last couple months, and, like my wife and I (I've been looking for work since May, 3 months before our daughter was born), are of limited means. It killed me to see all the hard work go into these cupcakes only to be stopped dead in our tracks by a poorly made, $29.99 piece-of-junk. When I looked up and saw the tears in my wifes eyes, I immediately started to well up. Never mind the frosting that covered my hands, shoes, and the bottom of my pants, when I saw how devistated my wife was, my heart broke for her. All I could think about was how she painstakingly decorated every cupcake by hand, from the second she got home from work at 7 pm until 2 am, then got up at 8:30 this morning to finish the job. My wife managed to scrounge together enough money to get some cupcakes from a local grocery store (cost 5 times what we paid, for half the quality of product and decoration). Please keep these 2 things in mind before you buy this product: 1. Read all of the reviews. All the one star reviews seem to have a similiar problem, whilst all the 5-star reviews seem to "compliment" this product as though it saved their life (c'mon, it's a cupcake carrier, not a cure for cancer) . 2. If you are in the process of carrying 24 cupcakes some where, you are probably not going to be in a position to remix, rebake, re let cool, and redecorate if something goes arye.

I am sure it is a fantastic product, but I haven't used it yet.
35.00 is expensive for a cake carrier but I do like it
I received one at Christmas as a gift loved it so much I went back and bought another one I’ve used them when we had family reunions went on picnics we went to peoples house and you’ve had to bring things like bring a cake or cupcakes it’s just transports really well I love it so I gave them five
This carrier worked well transporting 2 dozen cupcakes to a birthday party. As noted in other reviews, the holes at the top by the carry handle allow some air to get in; so I simply stuffed a little plastic wrap in the holes, and the cupcakes remained fresh for the 24 hours ahead of delivery to the party. While the cupcake tower shelves do not anchor to anything on the bottom, I found so little room for movement that there was no sliding or disturbing during transit. The removable trays worked well for serving, and the collapsible feature is excellent. No issues with the latches, but I handled by the bottom to be extra sure. Also wanted to keep intact the plastic wrap I had stuffed by the handle. From a design standpoint the holes for the handle are the one area that could be improved - keep baked goods fresher without resorting to DIY fixes.
This is a great holder for both cupcakes and cookies - for one layer cakes/cupcakes, it feels a little big/bulky (also when storing), but otherwise feels sturdy. Cover easily snaps to base. Nice design.
love that it collapses. great for cupcakes, cakes , & pies!
We love everything about this cake/cupcake carrier except that it could easily have been designed to "store" cake/cupcakes as well. There are two good size holes where the handle attaches to the top of the cover that allows air (and probably small insects) in. If you only want to transport your cake/cupcake this is perfect but we wanted to be able to store in it as well. It is very large, and can easily fit a 12" cake in it (even though the description says 10") . We bought the Sterilite carrier (somewhat air tight) that just fits a 12" cake and put the entire Sterilite "inside" this one and latched it. So it will hold a much larger cake than the Sterilite, is collapsible, has the cupcake insert and felt more secure but unfortunately lets too much air in to use for storage.
Such a great cupcake travel companion. Each cupcake is held carefully so it doesn't tip.
