Real Techniques™ Your Base/Flawless Powder Brush

Received this as a Christmas gift to replace my old version of the powder brush that the RT team put out back in 2011. I was so excited to use it since I fell in love with the older one. However, it is NOT the same as the old orange colored one. The brush head on the new pink version is much flimsier. Powder flies EVERYWHERE, even when I apply the smallest amount to my brush. The bristles are soft, but they're almost too soft... it's a challenge to apply the powder onto and into the nose crease because they have no "strength" to them. It's a nice brush, but when I'm wasting product and struggle to apply it around the nose, it's no good. Bring back the old design, or at least still offer it to consumers...

The brush head itself is still great, but the new handles (straight, with plastic painted to match) are a downgrade. The old tapered handles were much more ergonomic, and fit the hand well. The new handles are straight and almost comically large in diameter for no discernable reason (although I'd hazard a guess that it's cheaper to manufacture a more or less straight tube, rather than an hour glass shaped one.) The new handles aren't very comfortable, especially if you have small hands like me. When the plastic portion was painted black, it made the brushes look more expensive than they are; now the plastic portion is painted to match the barrel and it makes them look...well, like drugstore brushes (ie, kinda cheap.) I could live with the new look if the handle was still the more comfortable tapered style, but they screwed up a perfectly good thing by changing them the way they have.

I'm in love with this brush! So far it's the best powder brush, tha I have and I use it every day to set my face and neck with compact powder. Bare in mind, I have never used any professional brushes and I compare it to other drugstore brushes. It does the job, powder blends well and is distributed equally, there are no blotches or anything like that. Somebody commented that the powder stays on the brush and doesn't transfer well on the face. I did not notice that. My face becomes a bit more matt after I use the brush. Also, as I have quite a dry skin, I don't like to put too much powder on my face and this one helps with that. I washed it only 3 times so far, so, I cannot comment on durability as yet. However, I did not have any bristles shedding. Cons: I'd like the bristles to be a bit softer. It's just a tiny bit too hard on my face. The brush clumps up in few days and towards the end of the week I start thinking maybe to use another powder brush. But I still love it very much and just bought a second one, so I could use it when the first one will clump up :)

This is a great brush its so soft and the bristles dont fall out,, super easy to use and I always grab this one when setting my foundation and contouring as it gets the job done. Would definitely recommend adding this to your brush set.

I love this brush it glides over my skin smoothly, applying my powder evenly all over my face without it looking cakey. The bristles on the brush fall out after awhile. Other brushes aren't ad soft as real techniques. Definitely will buy again.

I have so many of these brushes, almost all of them but cant use them anymore because the rubber part is just sticky and destroyed. Ill probably throw them away because theyre too annoying to use now, too bad because the actual brush is still in good shape!

This is my go to powder brush. It grabs product well and evenly coats my face. It cleans well and holds up for a long time?
