I bought one of these 13 years ago when I went off to college. At the time, I loved having a hamper I could fold up and lay flat under the bed when I didn't need it, since space was at a premium--and it was easy to carry down the hall to the laundry room (much easier than a traditional, hard hamper or laundry basket). Now, I have owned several pop-up mesh hampers, and while the other ones have fallen apart (usually within a year or two), this one only has one small hole (less than an inch) on one side from where I snagged it on something--it has held up so much better than all the other brands I've gotten over the years. As the others fall apart, I'm replacing them with this brand.
These hampers use to be super durable and made from stronger materials. The ones sold now are so cheaply made mine ripped the first day. With a normal load of laundry the handle came completely off. I recommend buying a canvas laundry hamper with rope handles instead of the mesh since they are not that durable. Well these use to be...

Its for my daughter's college dorm. Very appropriate for her and easy to carry
This bag has turned out to be quite helpful for me. It have to carry my laundry downstairs to the laundry room and, at my age, the basket was getting a big burdensome for me. This hamper is light enough and with the handle is really easy to carry safely. That being said, though, the hamper is quite sturdy and holds a good load.

This is a great option in a small dorm room!!
I’m 5’ tall and it’s a little too tall for me to carry down to the basement stairs, but I managed. I had the smaller one for many years, needed something a little bigger. Would be nice if they made an in between size.
