I just wanted to check in after using the unit to make a dozen batches of pasta. If your dough is of the correct consistency, this unit will roll and cut the pasta noodles perfectly. I recommend that you follow a simple recipe as you learn the machine: 1 Large Egg 3/4 cup all-purpose flour or 1/2 cup whole wheat + 1/4 cup all-purpose I mix this by hand in bowl, and then knead on the counter. It will begin very dry but as you knead the components will come together. You may need to add 1/2 tsp or so of water to the dough as you need. It should end up being stiff and slightly sticky, but not sticky enough to stick to your hands/fingers. Wrap in plastic and let sit for 20-30 minutes. Remove from wrap and roll out slightly with a rolling pin. Then proceed to the machine. Works every time. As I stated in a previous review, the Perfect Pasta maker will produce perfect pasta. If it is not working for you, especially cutting through the dough to form noodles, the dough is not the correct consistency.

fun pasta making experience! bluethreads ·

this was my first pasta making experience, so I do not have anything to compare it to. I made ravioli. The machine was easy to use. I put the dough in through to achieve a no. 4 consistency and cut the ravioli squares using a small square ramekin as a guide. I had a lot of fun using it. The machine was easy to maneuver and the clamp sufficiently held the machine in place on the table. I have not tried using the spaghetti/fettucini extension yet. The only problem I did have was the grease in the machine. I wiped it off with a dry cloth and rolled the dough through dozens of times, as per the instructions advised, to get the grease off. But even after having rolled the dough through dozens and dozens and dozens of times there was still grease on my pieces of dough! I had to continuously cut off pieces of dough as I was making the pasta that had bits of black on it :(

Fettuccine only Allie ·

Great at making the dough thin, but only worked on the fettuccine. The spaghetti roller didn’t cut my dough deep enough it only left indents. Get a different product if you want spaghetti

Love it! Love Pasta ·

Was a little difficult at first. Make sure you secure this to your counter, if you do it correctly it will work! Definitely need to make a few attempts. I found I needed to dust with flour each time I passed it through. DON'T be afraid of flour! It makes a mess, but it's worth it! I hung my pasta on a drying rack, only until I was ready to cook it, about 2 hours. Take the time to read the instructions. The lever does come undone easily, but I think it's because it allows you to quickly switch from pressing to making strands of pasta.

I purchased this pasta machine about three years ago. I actually purchased it to roll out fondant to make sugar flowers and or other fondant decorations for cakes. It still works as it did the first day I used it.

Terrible machine. Dukenuke88 ·

I signed up for an account strictly for the purpose of writing this review. This is a terrible machine. After only two uses, the cutting blades separated just enough to make an indentation rather than CUT the pasta. I must now separate each noodle from the others after passing it through the”blades”. My wife and I had a small competition after this development. We found it was quicker for either of us to roll out the dough with a rolling pin and cut each noodle with a knife, than it was to use the machine. Spend the extra money and buy a different one.

Easy, fast and excellent results Kent ·

I read the directions, as I have never made pasta before. Had never touched a pasta maker. This was so simple, and clean up was a snap - use a soft bristled paint brush and then wipe with a dry micro cloth. Fettuccine looks awesome cannot wait to make dinner! Couple of tips - when thinning the pasta (going to a smaller number) steer it from above to keep it centered in the feed area, letting it pile up below. And, as the directions say, flour is your friend. I am a former contractor, always laughed at reading the directions for a new tool. READ THE MANUAL, and I bet your experience will be as terrific as mine!
