Shark® Rocket® Pro DLX Corded Stick Vacuum in Fuchsia

Received the Rocket Pro DLX 2 days ago...tried it out today! VERY PLEASED with the results. We live with 3 long-haired dogs...a Border Collie, a Long-haired Daschshund X Nova Scotia Duck Toller X Chow Chow and a Mini-Aussie X American Eskimo. The fur from the Mini-Aussie X American Eskim is Super Soft and Ultra Fine...and very difficult for any vacuum to pick up effectively. Our old Shark Navigator NV 650 True Pet does a good job of it...on par with our Riccar Upright and Meile Canister Vac with Power Head. Our cordless Ion Duo does OK; but battery power on MAX power is limited. We wanted something for our small sunroom (168 square feet) that we could use daily for keeping shed fur in check...the Mini-Aussie X American Eskimo is a rescue with significant "challenges"...and he has an extra-extra large ex-pen with attached crate in that room...and he and my wife, who has dementia, spend quite a bit of time there. The Rocket Pro DLX is the perfect little vacuum for the job!!!

I bought this to replace the same item that had a broken mother board. The mother board got broken because it fell to the floor because it won't stand up on its own. That is the only problem, in my opinion, with this vacuum. No matter what I lean it against it will eventually fall over. They have added a hook (near the bottom of the machine so it hangs upside down???) That helps store it. The power is very good and I love that a forward facing light is built into the main housing so that with any attachment or configuration you use you still have light. The floor attachment is a little narrower than the older model.

I have been reading reviews before I purchase a stick vacuum. I notice that the majority of the reviews have "Received Free". Does that mean you got a free vacuum? I like free.

The Shark Rocket Pro DLX is easy to assemble and disassemble. Cleaning and replacing filters is a bit of a task. The weight of the hand held unit is light for some. I would not recommend this if you have arthritis in the hands or the wrists. The debris cup is a pleasure being it offers two ways of emptying the cup. The LED lights and the swivel head are the major reasons why I purchased this model. The LEDs light up any dust in its path and the swivel head makes maneuvering around furniture simple. I chose not to go with a cordless model. I discovered that over time the rechargeable batteries will eventually longer accept a charge and the manufacturer does not offer replacement rechargeable batteries. Therefore it is cost effective buying a corded model. Eventually, one of the LED’s will burn out. The question is, does Shark supply replacements? The suction is satisfactory. The motorized head has a lot of drive. Moving the head forward, it literally pulls you along, and moving it back you can feel the resistance. It extracts dirt and dust equally as well on carpet as it does on a hard surfaces. I have not experienced any issues with the Shark Stick Vacuum standing on its own. I have been trying to locate the accessories associated with this unit. I have typed in the model number under the Sharks website a nothing happens. I ended up going to Amazon to see just exactly which parts are compatible this unit. Even though this unit has met my expectations, the idea of lead in the cord bothers me. There is a possibility that I may return it, and go with another manufacturer.

I received this purchase in December. Does it work better than my last vacuum? Yes! The biggest pro is the suction! Other pros are it is gentle enough to use on hardwood without the fear of scratching, visual appealing design, the numerous attachments the unit came with, and the while unit is easy to clean. However, I do believe it is flawed. My biggest disappointment is this vacuum, fully assembled, cannot stand upright on it's own- it has to lean on something. While this may work for most people, it is just plain annoying to me. I also dislike how top-heavy the unit is, the cannister is small, and the roller gets clogged with hair too easily (I've never had to clean a roller in any vacuum this much!). I have 3 large short haired dogs and I vacuum often. Unfortunately this vacuum does not meet my needs. I should have returned.

I’ve owned many vacuum cleaners and I must say Shark has always been the brand I end up coming back to. A few of my vacuums were top of the line $700 ones, needless to say they didn’t hold up. So I had purchased this model after reading some reviews and decided to go for it. Once again, I’m not surprised I’m in love with it!! Very lightweight, portable, does everything I need it to do and very powerful. Which is the main reason I keep coming back and now will never own anything but a Shark again!

I needed a vacuum that was easy to push around on both carpet & tile floors…I couldn’t push the bigger vac anymore….this weighs less & also does a great job…easier also to empty the dirt cup ; altho I do do it a bit more often then the full size vac….but it’s a piece of cake for me..stores nicely too.
