Sharper Image® Fingerprint Lock in Black

This lock can be opened by just hitting it. Not secure at all. Do not, I repeat, DO NOT buy this lock for any reason.

This thing does not work! A total waste of time. Its going back to Bed and Bath.

It’s cool that it can hold the whole family’s fingerprints!!

I was really surprised when all of the negative reviews were about not being able to program it. The real issue is that THE LOCK CAN BE OPENED JUST BY HITTING IT. If you lift the hook and then hit the side it opens on, the lock is immediately released. I literally saw a review on here where someone said they use it for their gun safe because they know no one else can get into it which is terrifying because this is waaay easier than getting into a standard padlock. Unfortunately this Is the case with most fingerprint lock. They are far less secure but because they involve technology people buy into the lie that it's safer. Also of someone breaks into your lock using this method they can easily close the lock and it will still function so you might not even know. I still gave it a 4 for style because it does look cool. It's just too bad that it fails at the main thing it's supposed to do.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this lock for a little shed I have out back with my gardening gear and some lawn equipment. It also houses some balls and outside toys for my son. My previous lock had one of those four-digit codes and I swear my son isn't a dunce but he had trouble working it and remembering the code. With this lock, it took a couple of minutes to get his fingerprint inputted, and now he was access to his things whenever he needs them and he doesn't have to bother his dear old dad. It's weird having to recharge a lock but I throw it on the charger while I'm out doing yard work and throw it back on when I'm putting my things away and I've never had to worry about it. Easy to set up and easy to use. It's a good little lock.

Couldn’t get it to work.

With this I know I’m the only one that will be able to open this lock and get into the case. Even though the case is put away from small hands, having this lock makes me feel more secure and confident about having my gun.
