I love this trash can. I was worried that I would have to use the bags that are sold for the can but that is not the case. I am using the 13 gallon costco trash bags and they fit perfectly. I also love the silent close feature. I am very happy with my purchase!
I love this two toned stylish trash can. It's sleek, it's clean looking, and well constructed...BUT it WALKS! Yes, for the money I would prefer a trash can that was stationary and not nudging towards the kitchen wall each time you press the foot bar when opening it. This trash can is the "bomb" for looks, but I'm disappointed with the movement. Each day I move it away from the wall and by nightfall must once again pull it back because it's jammed up against my kitchen wall. The trash can is on my tile floor about an inch from the wall, but each time you open the trash can it creeps up closer to the wall. I wish there was a remedy for this inconvenience. I love the trash can. It looks beautiful in my kitchen but I'm not happy with it's movement.

This trash can is great. However, getting it was a problem and there was no one to talk to when the shipment fell off the face of the earth. They say they’ll get back to you within 24 hours when you submit the online request. Their idea of getting back to you is an automatic reply with links to their website about unrelated things. It does ask if it helped. The answer was no but nothing has happened since and it’s been days. Sad that they can’t do any better than that.

Our last SimpleHuman trash can was approximately 10-12 years old. Wife was ready for change and I didn’t put up an argument even though I felt there was no need too because there wasn’t a problem with the ole can. With that said, we are excited about the size of the 55L. Went from stainless steel to black. Just overall I feel we’ll get 10+ years service from this model or until the wife wants “change”.

I just ordered a replacement garbage can. The one we had, that was identical to it, came with our condo six years ago when we moved in. Last month, the lid broke, so we have replaced the can. The one we replaced could have been here ten or more years. It spoiled us, so we replaced it. Love, love, love it!

Haven’t touched the lid all week, which is ideal and better than Brabantia. Instructions should mention that after you attach the side compost bin it can never be moved again…

Great looking can but the lid won’t close by itself! I find the lid stuck half open until i press it closed.

Lightweight yet very sturdy feeling. Feels like it won’t break when you press down on it. Packaging was well put together for protection against dents.
