I use my mini one for cat litter and it does not release any smell at all! Plus the bags that go with this trash can hold up to the weight of a full bag of clumped cat litter! I have a bigger sized of these trash cans and I have to say between the two sizes I love them both for the fact that smell does not release from them, their locking abilities (works for my dog) and the way it can fit anywhere and the colors are matted so they don't attract a lot of unnecessary attention.
I bought this several years ago. Everything has held up well, except the steel accent pedal broke within the first 6 months. I am still using it as is, but would have liked for it to have held up better.

The base has no weight to it at all so every time you push the lever to open the lid, the entire can tilts forward and trash goes flying.

I originally ordered this can because I love all my other products and because my cats kept taking the trash out of the old container and dragging it through my house. Yuck! Now I don’t have that problem anymore. So happy!

Yes! It is sleek enough to fit next to the wall, but doesn’t damage the paint like our metal one did. Tall enough to hold enough. Good lid-opening mechanism and warranty.
