I've purchased many mattress pads over the years, and the ones in this price range tend not to fit deeper mattresses, but this one fits my 13" mattress really well. it's snug and doesn't shift around in the middle of the night. It's also not as hot as some of the plusher ones where those are more like a pillow top, this one is more of protective cover that still has some cushioning. While it's not technically waterproof, it does seem to be water resistant, so if you accidentally spill something your mattress will probably be ok. Overall, I think that for this price it definitely does the job.
This will work if you want to cover mattress only. If you are looking for padding comfort, this is not the one

Not my idea of quality
I'm quite please with Simply Essential Mircofiber Mattress Pad. This item was purchased for my spare bedroom
I wanted a new mattress cover for a queen mattress in our guest room. Didn't want to spend a lot and didn't want it to have a plastic/rubber waterproof layer. This one fit the bill. Don't know how it will hold up after laundry, but I don't think it will need to happen often for this bed.
Most mattress pads are waterproof, but this one is not.

I was initially happy with this mattress cover, as top felt good to the touch and sides fit mattress well. It wasn't until it was used by a guest, some time later, that I carefully washed it and the under side pilled and 'shed'. Am disappointed and will be returning it, hoping BB&B easily accepts returns of inferior product.

I bought this for our guest bed, and so far it seems to work just fine. However, I have not washed it more than once. Hopefully, it will hold up for a while.
