This is a stamped and folded piece of metal. Not a problem just for that but because the edges were unfinished and extremely sharp. The problem area is the end opposite the plastic handle. All of that was just as stamped out of the original sheet of metal. The entire edge was sharp as a steak knife. A few minutes with a Dremel tool made it safe to handle but that shouldn't be a necessary step to have to take on a brand new item. It functions adequately for its intended purpose, but use caution if you buy the thing.
This is one of the easier devices for making Spaetzle. This review is by an Austrian born Spaetzle maker. Hint: Add a small amount of liquid oil to water when you boil the noodles. Keeps them from sticking together.

That's what I need for my kitchen. Cute.
Wish I had purchased it years ago. Too bad it didn't come with a proper dough recipe. My regular dough was a little too thin.
The is a great device if you like to make Spaetzle.
Love it. A great addition to my kitchen.
