I searched for information on several air purifiers and I purchased the AC300 a few years ago after reading very good reviews on its performance. It's the middle of the road on cost. I purchased one purifier over a decade ago but the filter type and operation was rather cumbersome so I have experience on what I needed it for... namely to clear the air so to speak. It was used to freshen up the air from strong cooking smells that lingered past dinnertime or to freshen up the living room weekly. It works great in my experience. After using it, the HEPA filter itself does not absorb the smells over the years but there is a separate cloth carbon filter that catches the odors. After putting it in storage for a few years, decided to use it again recently and wanted a fresh set of filters. It probably improves the airflow efficiency to have a new HEPA filter as the old one may be even slightly clogged. Even though the HEPA filter was free from odor and looked reasonably clean, it was replaced along with the carbon filter. Bed, Bath and Beyond is where we purchased the items and they had great customer service at those times.
