ZWILLING Five Star 7-Piece Self-Sharpening Knife Block Set

I just purchased this set and am thoroughly enjoying them I did not realize how dull my old knives were until I obtained these. The knives are lightweight yet feel firm and well balanced in my hand. I like that the handles are one piece with no worries of harboring bacteria between the tang and the handle. I have read some reviews where it was said that the bread knife was not serrated but mine is. I find the Prep knife very useful for chopping all the celery and vegetables. Another feature I like is the built in sharpeners versus having a honing steel. The blades will always be sharp and I don't have to worry if I'm sharpening the knife at the proper 18 degree angle or 15 degree angle with my Japanese knives. I would recommend these knives to anyone who is considering purchasing a knife set but would point out the following. I have read on Bed Bath and Beyond's site that the knives are full tang. I have read elsewhere that they are 3/4 tang. (One site said it was a rat tail tang!!!...no way.) The knives feel solid but if you 100% must have a forged knife that is full tang be aware these may not be...I'm still not sure. The other thing to consider is the Five Star knives in this set have limited additional knives to purchase. If you must have a matching boning knife or a fillet knife or a matching cleaver you will be out of luck. (Unless you go on Ebay and purchase the cleaver for $600.00) I also bought these knives because I didn't have $700.00 laying around doing nothing, and I plan on gradually increasing the collection. I already bought the Santoku knife and 4 steak knives. If you can't stand having empty slots on your wood block don't buy this set.
