Must babysit the SpinWave

undefined.2 years ago
Not Recommended

I bought the Spinwave to let loose and clean but I have to babysit it whenever it is running. It cleans the same area over and over and misses other areas completely. While in wet mode, it rolls over area rugs and also the edges making them dirty. The battery dies while the tank is still almost full of water. I have used it 4 times and am ready to pull my hair out. I have a new cross wave and love it so I thought I would try the spin wave for our second home. I should have went with my gut and bought another crosswave. Sooooo disappointed!!

I highly recommend this product !

Bed Bath and Beyond Customer . 2 weeks ago

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have a small dog and could not keep up with her shedding with a traditional vacuum. The SpinWave robotic vacuum is programmed to vacuum every morning and I use it to mop weekly. It works wonderfully!

Robot for both vacuuming and mopping at last!

Bed Bath and Beyond Customer . 4 weeks ago

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Works very well for both vacuuming and mopping, easy to switch. Simple to use. Better for maintenance use than cleaning really dirty floor.

Not happy with this product

Bed Bath and Beyond Customer . 2 months ago

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used this a couple weeks now & was hoping it would perform better with each use. NOT when in dry mode it leaves clumps of pet hair & dirt in piles throughout the house. Even when it's not full.

Worst Robot Vacuum/Mop Ever

Bed Bath and Beyond Customer . 2 months ago

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) This is literally the worst Robot vacuum/mop that I have ever seen, used or purchased. It is constantly getting errors when you try to mop. It says that it's out of fluid even when it's full and is actually dispensing fluid. And once you have an error, you can't use the app to tell it to return to the base. It just sits there and beeps. The fluid control in the app also makes no difference. You can try to set it to "low" but it still just dumps large amounts of fluid out. And yes, this is even using Bissells own branded cleaner that's supposed to be specifically for the machine. The app needs to be updated with a bypass mode so it can be told to mop even when it thinks the tank is empty. I even tried to cover the dispensing hoses on the bottom of the machine to leave smaller holes, hoping less fluid would come out, but it doesn't make a difference when the machine won't run because it thinks it's empty anyways. I had high hopes for this machine but my no-name robot vacuum/mop is 10x better for less than half the price.

Do not waste your money on this

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This thing is an absolute piece of junk, right from day one it just kept giving errors and after 1 week of use starting saying that cleaning solution was low when mopping even when the tank was full and was never able to use the mopping mode again

Mapping/navigation is very terrible

Bed Bath and Beyond Customer . 2 months ago

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I bought this a few days ago and the app doesn't have a mapping feature. It's bad because when I want to mop my kitchen area, it mops the whole house just to get to my kitchen. It also vacuums one spot about 10 times for no reason. Then theres the docking issue. It takes forever to dock . The dock could be right beside it and it would go around the whole house before docking . It needs a major app update . There needs to be a mapping tool so we can choose where we want to vacuum. Would be returning it if it continues like this for the next three days .

basically a toy, had to send my first 2 back for replacement

Bed Bath and Beyond Customer . 2 months ago

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Does a fair job of wet mopping but since it doesn't vacuum up the water, you are essentially cleaning with the dirty pads and water and the dirt is left on the floor. Feel it was basically a waste of money.

Definitely worth it

Bed Bath and Beyond Customer . 2 months ago

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have 4 German Shepherds. Their tails are lethal weapons and apart from shedding 24*7, they spread the dust in the house.. I'm running the Spinwave every night in the kitchen, dining room and living room. I was underwhelmed at first to see what little (?) was collected in the bin. And then I realized how much less dust settles on the furniture these days. Same for the floors itself. First impression was so-so until R5D2 skipped a day. It really makes a difference in my house. As for mopping, I'm not sure what to think. It wets the floor and wipes it, but I'm used to dumping a bucket of dirty water after I mop and that's not happening here. R5D2 seems to have a strange routine at times going back and forth between areas (and obsessed with legs of tables and chairs). Since I'm not paying him by the hour, it's not a big deal to me. With that, it's a keeper.

Good but know this

Bed Bath and Beyond Customer . 2 months ago

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I like this product. Has helped immensely. You need to know that it is not compatible with boundary strips - rolls right over them. I'd love to be able to contain it in my open plan house more easily, but still happy with it overall!

Navigation is the worst I've seen

Bed Bath and Beyond Customer . 3 months ago

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The quality of this robot is great and it has so much potential. However, the navigation is absolutely horrible. So bad that it's not even worth using as a mop bc it is all over the place. It mops the same spot multiple times, doesn't remember where it didn't go, and goes in weird directions which burns up the battery.

I would never buy this product again befause

Bed Bath and Beyond Customer . 3 months ago

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Number one. The app doesn't work the way it's supposed to number two. I had to sign into my account five times a month. Number three that's dumb It'll clean the same spot 15 times but not the surrounding areas. I'm done with this product. I'm about to send, send it to the fire pit and burn it

Revision to review

Bed Bath and Beyond Customer . 3 months ago

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I left a review earlier today about the Spinwave being terrible at navigating. I took another look at the instructions and noticed that two foam spacers have to be removed from behind the front bumper before use. Once they were removed the navigation improved, although it seems to be going over the same area rather than finding new areas to clean. You are welcome to delete the review. I'll write a new one with a few weeks more of using it. However, I'd recommend that you make the foam spacers a bright colour to make it more obvious that they need to be removed. The white ones blend in with the rest of the unit and are almost invisible. Thanks

Not until there is meaningful improvement

Bed Bath and Beyond Customer . 3 months ago

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I bought the SpinWave because it was the only robot mop with spinning pads. Cool innovation, obviously more effective than a push-pad type mopper. However, it turns out that the navigational intelligence of this product is shockingly bad. It constantly bumps into all kinds of things and gets stuck. It doesn't seem to realize that it is not moving, the wheels just keep spinning while it's stuck and it makes no attempt to extract itself. It clearly doesn't have a motion sensor, so it has no idea whether it's actually moving, regardless whether the wheels are spinning. So you constantly need to rescue it from the silliest and most basic navigational problems. Just to be clear, the unit is not actually stuck, it's just too stupid to navigate itself AROUND THINGS THAT ARE IN ITS WAY. Its vision, navigation, and problem solving abilities are inferior to my 15 year old Roomba. I'm really surprised that Bissell released such an imbecilic product. With the spinning pads it has a lot of potential, but Bissell clearly did not invest in making this a smart product.

Today (1/2/23), picked up my curbside order for Katy, Texas after driving 30 min 1 way and arrived at home. After opening the box, I realized the adapter was missing along with other parts listed on the instruction book. Extremely frustrating especially given there’s a yellow tag on the box stating it was inspected by ETR20E3. This is unacceptable and I demand a full refund.

Vaccum works well but the app doesn't send notifications

Bed Bath and Beyond Customer . 4 months ago

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I bought the vaccum for Christmas, once I got it set up I noticed the app doesn't notify you if something happens with the bissell. For example last night the vaccum stopped and started to beep and I wasn't sure why and the app didnt send me anything saying something was wrong. The vaccum does clean well I still need to try the mop side

Do not buy

T Matheson . 4 months ago

This was our second of these robotic vacuums. I miss the much cheaper eufy that only did vac. This Bissell gets stuck on the transition from any floor type to another. It always hangs up on rugs by entry doors. And often gets stuck under bar stool chairs at our island… it’s not good at navigation. Now, after 5 mos of use the wet attachment will not spray water… do not buy this half naked product.

Lasted until warranty expired

Worked pretty well for a while but after just over a year it runs for only about 5 mins. It might need a new battery but I don’t want to spend more money on it. BISSELL offered me 20% off a new unit but they did not offer me a battery because the warranty had just expired. Pretty disappoint for an expensive item.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Model No 2859J SpinWave® Wet and Dry Robotic Vacuum Exclusive Bundle Review They don't test their own products, anyone with a disability is going to hate this. It has an app but doesn't allow you to stop the device, meaning if it gets stuck you will have to manually pick it up. There is no way to stop the beeping, meaning it will just beep until the battery runs out which can take hours. This wouldn't be an issue with other robots but it gest stuck on everything. A simple software update could disable the beeping but it would still get stuck on everything. They have already released a new version so don't expect many updates for this one.
