Perfect Ice Shaver, exactly what we wanted!
Denise.2 years agoWhen my 9 year old son requested an ice shaver, I researched and read many reviews for all kinds of ice shavers and snow cone makers. I wanted high quality and also didn't want to spend a ton of money. I looked at positive and negative comments from verified purchasers, The metal ice shavers had comments that they found metal specs in their shaved ice, which made me stay clear from those. I read excellent reviews from this Cuisinart but it had been sold out everywhere. My son really wanted one for summer use so we tried another brand which was a bit tricky to use and made smaller amounts of coarse chunky ice. We were excited when this Cuisinart came back in stock. It is superior in quality and functionality. It is super easy to use. I like the safety feature of the on off switch in the front AND that you have to push the handle down for the blades to shave the ice. This machine can shave a lot more ice at a time than the other brand we tried. You do need to use some force to push the handle down to shave all the ice, (my 9 year old had to use both hands to push the handle down), Surprisingly this machine which has a handle made of plastic is able to make large amounts of perfect fine fluffy delicious snow. We like that the clear plastic collection bin is removable and washable. We like that this Cuisinart comes with a snow cone scooper and 4 reusable plastic snow cones that fit in the holder on the side of the machine. We also like that this machine is small enough to keep on our kitchen counter for frequent use. This Cuisinart snow cone maker is perfect for making snow cones and shaved ice for all kinds of delicious drinks and shakes. We are completely satisfied with are purchase and love this Cuisinart snow cone maker/ice shaver and highly recommend it to everyone to purchase.

If you want a real snow cone maker this is it! My kids (age 8 ,5 &3) love it. The older two can operate it themselves. It’s very safe and easy to clean. Don’t waste your $ on the cheaper products.

Very good product. Easy to use. Looks good on counter. It's noisy but to be expected since it's grinding hard ice cubes.
Fun Dessert for Grandkids and Adults
I purchased this as a treat option for my grandkids. I figured since it was made by Cuisinart it would be a high quality and long lasting appliance for my kitchen. The price seemed reasonable too. I've never been disappointed in any of my Cuisinart products. The unit was easy to set up and get started. It really didn't take too many ice cubes to make enough cones for 4 grandkids and a few adults. It took about 5-10 minutes to fill the container with the chipped ice. I found that it worked best with a firm, steady and straight hand when pushing down the plunger. You need to get a "feel" for the ice and how it is getting chipped. I had to move the plunger up and down a few times to keep a steady stream of ice bits. The ice is between shaved and crushed - just like a purchased sno-cone. A great safety feature is the auto-off when you lift the plunger. It is fairly noisy so I ended up making them outside away from everyone so they could continue to talk. I did find the plastic cups provided with the unit to be too slippery for 5 year-old hands so I used some small plastic glasses instead. My glasses fit in the fold-down cone holders - a nice addition to the machine. The ice scoop impressed the kids because I could make the dome on top of their cup. It was a fun experience with the grandkids. We will get tons of use from it this summer! I am very happy with the purchase of this sno-cone maker. I would definitely recommend to anyone that wants a high quality machine for making this type of treat. Also for anyone that wants to make adult beverage slushies!

Great Fun!
My seven-year-old daughter loves snowcones more than anything. This is what she wanted for her birthday present. She has requested a snow cone every day cents! It works really well and I make the syrup at home using kool aid Hawaiian Punch and a simple syrup. She absolutely loves it and it works well!

Takes ice cubes and easily chops them to "snow". A little slow if you want to make dozens at a time but can keep up with personnel needs.
Cuisinart sno-cone machine
So easy to use, so easy to clean, works so well, and is so darn fun!!! I’d say we’ve used it on at least 20 different days, over the last few months or so. Sometimes for just 3 or 4 sno-cones; sometimes for 10 or 20. … This product is exactly what we were hoping it would be! Thank you, Cuisinart!

Snow cone machine
Machine works great. The kids and adults at our pool party loved it. Just like you get at the fair!! Making the syrup was super easy.

Overall it’s great but I do feel worried the handle will break. It doesn’t feel as sturdy as I’d like it feel.

This is such a treat to have around! The kids just love having snow cones/slushies any time they want. Super easy to use, set up and clean. Money well spent for sure!

Its made of plastic. reminds me of a fancier snoopy snow cone maker. The ice comes out a little on the thick side. But for small children it should be fine. does not feel very sturdy.
