We got the raised toilet seat, the 2" one and were concerned it might not work. We have an elongated bowl and the Drive Medical Raised Toilet Seat is for a round bowl. I thought perhaps with some modification I could get it to work. I measured our bowl and it seemed the numbers could work with the seat. Also there is a BB&B right in our neighborhood for an easy return/refund if it did not work. The results... I sat it on the bowl and tightened down the thumb screws and it was a secure fit. No wiggle, no slip and secure to push up off of to rise from the seat. The negative... the hole looked small to get the stuff into, but that was just because of the elongated toilet bowl. If it was on a round toilet bowl it would look normal. The end result... it is secure to use and all human lower end products easily go into the bowl. It has also made getting up a snap, easy. Very glad we took a chance on it working and I didn't have to engineer a modification to get to work. Terry

    Improved stability of seat

    Helper . 5 years ago

We increased the stability of the seat by using Velcro. The 2 back side attachment clamps slid on the toilet, didn't fit this particular toilet.

    So far so good

I got the 6" seat to use post hip labrum surgery. I previously bought a different brand 4" seat. I didn't like the opening on that one and it wasn't high enough. Although this one is "not intended for use on an elongated toilet" per the manufacturer, it works just fine on my Toto elongated one-piece toilet. But, because it's not designed for an elongated toilet, there is a gap at the back between this seat and the toilet bowl. That's ok. The toilet is usable and the seat is secure on the toilet, so that's all that matters. It attaches easily and can be removed easily for cleaning of it and the toilet. The directions say to routinely check it before use to make sure it's secure. That's easy to do. I haven't used it regularly yet; I just tested it out so far. My surgery is in two wks. If the seat doesn't work out as planned I'll update this review accordingly. Otherwise, it's perfect. :-)

    Blessed Relief

    JJoy . 5 years ago

I have been so excited about the difference this seat has made for my rising and sitting with my knee replacement. It feels natural, a lot less painful rising and sitting. It has helped my lower back from the strain of getting up and down! How wonderful to feel this excited about less pain and relief that I have been waiting for. I’m tall and this has made this more comfortable and natural! I love it!!!

To hard to sit on, but does serve the purpose.

Negative feature: the seat is too hard. It's too hard to sit on comfortably.

    Raised Toilet Seat

    Jackie . 6 years ago

Very easy to install. Makes it easier for a disabled person to stand. Would have liked it better with a lid.

    Seat is the perfect height.

    Good for shorter folks

I am 5'1" and awaiting hip surgery, and getting up off of the toilet can be very painful. I tried a standard (4-1/2") raised toilet seat, but it didn't work for me- I couldn't rest my feet flat on the floor, my legs started to fall asleep, and it actually made my hip pain worse. I stopped using it, and ordered this 2" model, which works much better for me. Just the right height, was easy to install, is stable and I'm happy with it. It doesn't have a lid, but I don't mind that. The only downside is that you can't lift it up like you would a regular toilet seat to clean the bowl, but you can get in there fairly well to clean. I will probably remove it periodically to do so, which isn't difficult, I also purchased handrails, which I highly recommend. The combination of the two is great.

    Great product

I was surprised at the quick delivery of this product. It was easy to install and is doing it's work expected.

    A great solution!

We had a 4" high seat that was just too high for my mother. This was an excellent solution for her. Just put it in place and tighten the holders. Couldn't have been easier!

    4" is just right

    Amiboo . 8 years ago

I ordered this in the 4" height for my mother-in-law. It really helps her get up and down a lot easier. It attached really easily and stays put.

Exactly what I was looking for

    JimT . 8 years ago

My wife has some trouble standing up from normal toilet seats, even with bars to help. The raised toilet seat makes it much easier for her to sit down and stand up. In case of accidents which soil the seat, it is much simpler to clean than normal toilet seats.

The service was great. The product was great. Helpful efficient service at the store and delivery was prompt. But I would suggest that if a person does not answer your request for feedback after the first try, you refrain from sending any more e-mails. Thank you.
