I have waited a long time to start my own Le Creuset collection. I love to cook, and I've always heard such great things about the Le Creuset brand. However, they are quite pricey! I finally decided to splurge on the 5.5 Round Dutch Oven - and I am so glad I did! I've made stuffed peppers, marinara sauce and a pot of soup so far. It warms up quickly and cooks so evenly - its amazing. On top of everything, clean-up is a joy. It just wipes clean. I purchased the Meringue color and it is gorgeous! My biggest decision now is whether to collect all the same color - or mix them up! Either way, my collection will definitely be growing.

Wonderful Wedding Gift

This is a work horse, can do so many things with it. Very versatile. Easy to clean. Buy bigger. You can always cook less in a large Dutch oven. But never more in a smaller Dutch oven.

Warranty isn't what you Think

I loved my Le Crueset and took great care of it. I noticed it had a small chip on the rim. It has a lifetime warranty and let's face cost a bundle. I contacted them and they said basically, based on pictures that showed no wear but the chip, "It's your fault" deal with it. Just know that if you actually use the pot the warranty is worthless.

Made a huge pot of chili first day I had it.

So far, this oven works beautifully. I seared meat in it, browned the peppers and onions and then braised the meat for 4 hours. Turned out incredible. Very attractive finish.

Fantastic gift

I purchased this for a wedding registry. It is beautiful wheat ivory color. Very large can do any job! The bride and groom were thrilled. Wonderful price. Workhorse for any kitchen.

Le Creuset Dutch Oven

Have wanted this Dutch Oven for 6 years. Finally got one and love it. Don't wait, get one now!

Indeed, very small, but cute and extremely useful!

Even though I read all of the measurements, this pot was still smaller than I expected and really is sized for liters. It does not hold a full one quart. Nevertheless, I am very happy with it! It's perfect for one-pot dishes for one, goes well from stovetop to oven to table, and is also very useful for smaller hot side dishes for 3-4 people. It takes up almost no room on the table. I thought the price was a little bit high for the size, but that's ok, given that it has a nice fitting cover and is very versatile, with the usual high quality Made in France Le Creuset crafting.

Horrible

This was such a disappointing purchase for me. I purchased it mainly to make arroz con gandules and after the first use the stains from the color of the rice would not come off. It looked as if I didn’t clean it no matter how much I tried so felt uncomfortable returning as it was hard to explain why the food coloring wouldn’t come off. Tried to use agin with the staining and now the outside of the rice turned black as that black from the pot is coming off onto the food. Never thought I’d have to throw a cast iron pot like this away. I thought a purchase like this would last for years. Not sure if I just got a defective one but disappointing now the less.

Now I know why Le Creuset are famous. I’m so happy I finally owned a Le Creuset item. It truly is worth every penny. I highly recommend it to anyone who is thinking of acquiring one. I now want to purchase the braised.

I’ve wanted a Le Creuset Dutch oven for years and I decided to treat myself to one. I used a 20% off coupon and am so happy I finally have this Dutch oven! It is so well made, one day I will hand it down to one of my kids. It doesn’t impart the “funky” taste that my old cast iron Dutch oven did. It’s very heavy duty and cleans up beautifully.

Perfect size!

I made my first meal with my Dutch Oven today, Sweet Potatoe soup. It is the perfect size for the two of us or to entertain another couple. I will use this often and I am glad that it works on my gas range and in my oven!

Most used

I use this pot more than any other in my collection. Heats quickly, and maintains evenly. Clean-up is easy. Be aware all ceramic cast iron cooking vessels are heavy. I love mine.
